Two weeks old! :)

Well Brody is officially two weeks old, today! I feel like my little newborn baby is getting so big. I want the little baby back!! He is so adorable though, and so much fun! Brody is such a happy baby & so perfect. Every time my mom comes over she always tells Adam and I that all babies are not this good and that we are very lucky. :) We love it! Brody is such a good sleeper, most of the time I have to wake him up at night in order to feed him. He is also a great eater and is gaining weight like no other, which I am not surprised about since my family is known for our chunky babies. He also does this super cute thing where he shakes his head 'no' at certain times, and its usually when I am asking him funny questions or when I am trying to give him a pacifier, SO CUTE! Also, when he is awake and just relaxing he always puts both of his hands behind his head and legs sprawled out and just seems so chill just staring around the room smiling. Anyways, if you can't tell Adam and I are completely in love with him! He is perfect!! :)

He now weighs : 8lbs 10 oz & is 22 3/4inches long!

Mother's Day

Yay! This is my official first Mother's Day and I am so grateful that I am able to have such an amazing son! I am glad that I was able to have him six days before Mother's Day so that I could share this day with him! Everyone told me that I would love him the moment I saw him, and I always thought that this was true, but I didn't realize the amount of love I would have for him. I am CRAZY about him!! He is just so amazing and I feel truly privileged to be his mother and that Heavenly Father would trust me with him. I love just holding him and having him in my life. He is truly my everything! :) I am so lucky!



But throughout my pregnancy and since the birth of my son, my own mother has been so helpful and I am so grateful that I was able to have such a wonderful mother like her. She is always willing to do whatever I need whether its run to the store for some supplies or just hold Brody for me, she does it all with a smile. She has been so supportive during this new time in my life and it just makes me think back to my own childhood and what an incredible mother and childhood I had. My mother is always very positive about everything and is so nice to everyone! She will answer my endless amount of questions I have had and never seems annoyed. When I was a child she would always have such fun things to do with my siblings and me. She made sure that ever since we were little that there were two things in life that were truly important: the Gospel and our family. These were our main focuses in life and I am so grateful that I was born with this mindset. We always did such fun family trips and just hung out as a family. I have never doubted the love that my mother has for her kids and her husband. Also her testimony of the Gospel is very apparent. She is always willing to serve others and go above and beyond for anyone. She is just so awesome and I am grateful for her in my life and I hope that I will be able to be a great mom to Brody like she was to me. Thank you so much Mom for all you do for me and our family! I love you!

Adam and I are so excited to welcome Brody into our small little family! It has been a wonderful past two days. He is such a happy baby and sleeps a lot (which I am very grateful about.) He has super long legs and really long skinny arms, when he doesn't have the blanket on he looks so skinny & small! Brody has really dark hair and my lips! He is absolutely perfect! :)

About his birth:
Well as most of you know I was sooo over being pregnant and huge! So my doctor said that since we were worried about Brody being such a big baby that we could induce as soon as I was at least 39 weeks. So Adam and I decided to induce on May 2nd, and just to make sure he was born that day we went in May 1st. They gave me cytotec, around 10:30 pm, which would help me dilate more, the nurse told Adam and I that it would probably be a few days until he was born, which definitely disappointed us. Around 1 am they checked me again and I was dilated to almost a three.. so thinking I started to think this was going to be a long week of labor.. But they checked me at 8:30 am and apparently I dilated much faster than normal and even started having so many contractions that they didn't need to give me the pitocin so they gave me the epidural. Then around 10:30 am the nurse checked me and I was to an 8 and 100% effaced! So the nurse said that she was going to call the doctor because I was going to have to start pushing!! Umm... so MUCH FASTER than we were expecting! Then about twenty minutes later the nurse checked and I was to a 10 and right then had to start pushing. They told me that my doctor was about 6 minutes away and then finally he got there. Brody's heart rate started to drop so I had to wear oxygen (which made me extremely nauseous) and after about an hour and a half of pushing and at one point ripping my oxygen off once I noticed Brody's heart rate was ok, he was born!!! :) At first he didn't cry at all, but apparently he swallowed some of the fluid as he was coming out but then he cried right away and everything was ok! He was really white and his head was bruised because he got stuck in the birth canal. He got a 6 on his apgar test and then a 9 after five minutes! But we are so grateful that everything went so well and SO FAST!

Will this baby just come?!

Man, I am getting tired of being pregnant! & getting so excited to be able to meet our son, Brody! I just wish it would happen sooner rather than later. Luckily, when I went to the doctors yesterday he told me that I am dilated almost to a two.. and gave me hope that he will induce during my 39th week if I want. & of course Adam and I are all excited about that. We are thinking May 2nd, because Adam's birthday is the second to last day of May, so then Brody's would be the second day of May. So as of now I am looking forward to May 2nd, unless he decides to come early..

Our New House

As most of you know in February Adam and I bought a house. We are so excited to be able to have this place as a home to raise our children in. We placed the bid on the house back in August but since the house was a short sell it took awhile for it to finally finalize. But during President's weekend we moved in! Both of our families helped with moving all the stuff and painting the house, which took all weekend!... Here are some before and after pictures:
